BMW Tate Live: Performance Room is a pioneering programme of live performances commissioned and conceived exclusively for online viewing and simultaneously seen by international audiences across world time zones.

Audiences are invited to enter the online Performance Room via www.youtube.com/user/tate/tatelive at 20h in the UK and exactly the same moment across time zones on the specified dates—15h on the East Coast of America, 21h in mainland Europe and 23h in Russia.

During the performance, online viewers are encouraged to chat with other viewers from around the world via Twitter, Facebook and Google+ and to ask the artist or curator questions that will be answered at the end of the performance during the live Q&A.

Each performance is archived and available to view online after the live event. Previous artists in the series are Jérôme Bel, Pablo Bronstein, Emily Roysdon, Harrell Fletcher, Joan Jonas, Liu Ding and Meiro Koizumi.

Nicoline van Harskamp, 19 September
20h BST
Nicoline van Harskamp explores the variation and future of spoken English, and examines how the English language evolves and takes on new forms depending on many cultural factors.

For this new work, English Forecast, Nicoline van Harskamp has researched what the possible future sound and nature of spoken English might be. A team of actors, with different mother tongues, will perform this language, and online audiences are invited to participate by repeating what they hear. Their task uses the full range of consonants and vowels of the International Phonetic Alphabet—a notation system for the totality of sounds that can be made by speech.

Ragnar Kjartansson, 24 October
20h BST
Ragnar Kjartansson experiments with visual arts, music, theatre and opera. Acting in the work, he explores with humour the potential of repetition in performance.

Daniel Linehan, 12 December
20h GMT
Dancer and choreographer Daniel Linehan considers the boundaries and commonalities between dance and non-dance forms using recorded and projected video images. He plays with texts, movements, images, songs and videos to create a text and dance-based performance.
