The Renaissance Society is pleased to announce REN BEN 2013, this year’s gala and art auction, welcoming the Society’s new Executive Director and Chief Curator, Solveig Øvstebø.

This year’s auction of over 70 works features a selection of artists ranging from emerging to internationally established—among many others, Nairy Baghramian, Jos de Gruyter & Harald Thys, Sam Falls, Brendan Fowler, Joanne Greenbaum, Marcia Hafif, Peter Piller, Chadwick Rantanen, Mandla Reuter, Bruno Serralongue, and Dan Walsh. Drawing inspiration from Solveig’s Norwegian roots, this year’s auction will also feature work by Scandinavian artists—including Miriam Bäckström, Jacob Dahlgren, Marius Engh, Torbjørn Rødland, Fredrik Söderberg, and Ståle Vold—and highlight galleries based in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

The online preview of the auction is now on view here. Advance bids are being accepted online or by phone at 773 702 8670 until Friday, September 6, 2013, 12pm CST

All proceeds from the auction support The Renaissance Society’s 2013–14 exhibition season.

For more information, please contact Lori Bartman, Director of Development, at 773 702 8670 or lbartman [at] renaissancesociety.org.
