About Gallery TPW
Founded as The Toronto Photographers Workshop in 1977, Gallery TPW was one of the first artist-run centres in Canada. Started by a group of fifty artists and curators to advocate for photography as an art form, TPW led the conversation of contemporary photographic practice. Over the years, the gallery expanded its medium-specific mandate to include new forms of imaging and time-based work and has exhibited the work of more than a thousand artists.

Gallery TPW has regularly advocated on behalf of the arts community and has developed an outstanding international curatorial program.

As an artist run centre, we support artists to take risks with their work and create an opportunity for them to test out groundbreaking cross-disciplinary explorations.

Following the retirement of our long-time executive director, Gallery TPW is emerging from a period of transition and self-reflection. Once again, a community of artists is rallying together to affirm the gallery’s vision and values of: Championing Artist-Led Advocacy; Disrupting Systemic Barriers; Fearlessly Experimenting; Leading On Critical Issues; Being A Good Neighbour and Embracing Change.

Gallery TPW extends a commitment to equity in every aspect of the organization and recognizes that structural inequalities create significant barriers to equal opportunity employment. We strongly encourage applications from candidates of visible minorities, from women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, persons of minoritized sexual orientations and gender identities, and others with the experience and knowledge to productively engage with diverse communities. Please let us know if you have any access needs for the interview process and we will work with you to meet them.

About the Job
