Nowhere is the face of metropolitan centers changing as rapidly as it is in Asia. This development is captured in the works of many of the 40 young Asian artists shown in Deutsche Bank’s Hong Kong headquarters. With the new “Art works” Hong Kong app, smartphone users can explore the artists’ achievements—through thematic introductions, artist biographies and pictures of their numerous works.
The app is part of a growing offer that features the art collection’s global locations, which include London and Frankfurt, in addition to Hong Kong. Each app functions as a digital guide. Users can move playfully through the collection or target specific artists and their works. And they can engage in discussions of the artworks through a share function for social networks.
The virtual tour through the Deutsche Bank Towers in Frankfurt goes from floor to floor, presenting 60 artists along the way. The “Art works” app for the Deutsche Bank Collection in the Frankfurt Städel Museum features 60 outstanding artworks on permanent loan, from Anselm Kiefer to Neo Rauch. The latest app is devoted to the London headquarters’ art presentation, which naturally includes protagonists of the British art scene, such as Tracy Emin, Damien Hirst and Anish Kapoor.
Deutsche Bank has been making contemporary art accessible worldwide for more than 30 years. The numerous tours it’s offered through its collection, its publications, the online magazine ArtMag, and now the smartphone apps have played an important role in achieving this goal—under the motto “Art works.”
