We are excited to announce the launch of Exhibitions with new shows from Parsons School of Design at The New School, University of Arizona School of Art, School of Visual Arts (SVA), and California College of the Arts (CCA).

Exhibitions is a venue for institutions to share images of student shows and curated programming on the new artandeducation.net. In a fresh and dynamic design with new services and expanded features, Exhibition galleries present an unlimited number of images alongside curatorial statements and information on the featured program and participating artists.

Over the past fifteen years, Art & Education has cultivated an unparalleled online platform for academic dialogues surrounding art and ideas. Today, we remain the most relevant digital resource, providing exposure to the most innovative and progressive programs in the field of art education.

Let’s use the technologies available to us to evolve art education’s presence online. We look forward to continuing the critical discourse of art education from institutions around the world.

Logics of Non-Exchange: Parsons MFA Thesis Preview
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Logics of Non-Exchange, the Parsons School of Design at The New School 2020 MFA Thesis exhibition curated by Stamatina Gregory, will take place in New York just as soon as students and faculty are able to return to campus safely. This online platform presents the work of the twenty graduating students working across media, methods, and materials.

University of Arizona School of Art 2020 MFA Graduate Showcase
During the last year of their coursework, Master of Fine Arts students work closely with faculty to develop an original body of work that contributes to the discipline in novel ways. This requirement is the culmination of a three-year terminal degree program and an essential component of the completion of their degree. This showcase displays selections from the works produced by the University of Arizona School of Art class of 2020.

School of Visual Arts MFA Computer Arts Class of 2020
On March 11, the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City, like many other colleges, ceased in-person operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The transition to online learning was swift, but for art students whose work relies on the use of studio space and large-scale equipment, the transition proved to be more challenging.

The MFA Computer Arts Program at SVA offers a multidisciplinary approach to learning 3D Animation/VFX, 2D Animation/Motion Graphics, and Experimental Art. The work by thesis students focusing on Experimental Art can range anywhere from immersive and interactive installations, game design, XR experiences, VJing, and experimental animation. With stay-at-home orders in effect, completing their projects seemed near impossible, let alone the traditional gallery exhibition at the end of each academic year.

California College of the Arts Graduate Fine Arts Class of 2020
The graduate program in Fine Arts at California College of the Arts (CCA) celebrates its 2020 MFA degree candidates with a specially commissioned website. Showcasing the work of a cohort of emerging artists working across disciplines, the site has been conceived as a capstone celebration of two years of graduate work as well as an evolving response to the current moment of pandemic and its effects on artistic practice. Organized by Glen Helfand and Kim Nguyen, the site features monographic sections, commissioned writings, visual inspirations, propositions for the future, and live-streamed events.
