The Israel Museum, the largest cultural institution in Israel, is one of the world’s most comprehensive encyclopedic museums. Its collections extend from prehistory through contemporary art, with a special focus on contemporary art as a window onto world culture. Following a transforming campus renewal project completed in 2010, ten percent of the Museum’s expanded collection gallery space of more than 200,000 square feet (some 20,000 sq. m.) is devoted to contemporary art.
