Outdoor projects in the Tuileries Garden
In collaboration with the Louvre Museum, for the fifth consecutive year FIAC will present an ambitious programme of outdoor projects in the Tuileries Garden. The growing interest of galleries and artists for this programme – combined with the unique setting of the garden – has made it possible to bring together over twenty-five projects, including installations, sculptures, and sound pieces. Among the artists chosen this year, FIAC is delighted to present new works by Allora & Calzadilla, Mark Dion, Subodh Gupta, Thomas Houseago, Jonathan Meese, Ugo Rondinone… and emblematic pieces by artists including Yayoi Kusama, Carl Andre, Bruno Girconcoli and Franz West among others.
Also in the Tuileries Garden, Fiac is honoured to announce the unveiling of an exceptional and unprecedented architectural realisation: For the first time, Galerie Patrick Seguin will present the “Maison Ferembal”, built by Jean Prouvé in 1948 and adapted with infinite sensitivity by Jean Nouvel between 2007 and 2008 so as to re-endow it with its original vocation as a modular “nomad” construction.
Cinéphémère
Likewise, in the framework of the Outdoor Projects, the Ricard Foundation presents Cinéphémère in the Tuileries Garden. Cinéphémère is a luxurious 14-seat cinema installed in a specially redesigned container. Artists’ films will be projected in hourly 40 minute programmes for the duration of the fair. Among the artists selected, FIAC is delighted to present films by Kader Attia, Robert Breer, Mircea Cantor, Omer Fast, Aurélien Froment, Ryan Gander, Dora Garcia, David Lamelas, Robert Morris or Clemens von Wedemeyer…
In response to the increasing attention which these outdoor projects receive from the visiting public, thanks to a partnership with the Ecole du Louvre which trains young museum curators, FIAC has developed a program of cultural mediation destined to reinforce that already provided by the staff of the Tuileries gardens: Some fifty students will be on site every afternoon to answer questions from the public.
