The Valais School of Art invites applications for the position of Head of the Research Institute of Fine Arts at EDHEA.

The Valais School of Art, EDHEA, offers under one roof a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Arts in Public Spheres (MAPS), as well as professional training as a graphic designer recognized within the Swiss Design Schools. It is one of the five schools that make up the Valais section of the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO). The school’s research Institute of Fine Arts is a cornerstone of its development strategy and is active on a regional, national and international level.

Mission
As Head of the Research Institute of Fine Arts at EDHEA, you will be a member of the school’s governing board and work in close collaboration with the director of EDHEA. You will be in charge of the Institute’s development and outreach activities, of its organization as well as of its administrative and financial management. You will plan the Institute’s strategies alongside the governing board.

You will carry out and coordinate research projects by developing interdisciplinary and transversal collaborations with academic and institutional network in Switzerland and abroad. You will guide the professors and students in the development of their research skills and contribute to the growth of the doctoral program. You will promote the interests of the Institute across the networks to which it belongs. 

Profile
–University degree (at least a Master’s degree, PhD preferred) or equivalent diploma.
–Managing, organisation and leadership experience in a position of responsibility.
–Established experience in project acquisition and management and in research and development mandates.
–Excellent knowledge of the swiss and international art scene.
–Strong interest in higher-education teaching.
–Innovation-driven and proactive.
–French or German mother tongue with good knowledge of the other language, proficient in English.

Employment: 60%
Location: Sierre, Switzerland
