The Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) announces the launch of its new website. The content-driven site significantly increases access to its resources and activities, and increases the institution’s visibility among regional and international audiences. The innovative site architecture, navigation tools, and interface design gives users more direct access to the CCA Collection and resources; reflects the full range of activities such as exhibitions, educational programs, and events; and creates a platform for the exchange of ideas about architecture in contemporary society through collaborative efforts.

The CCA’s online activities enhance the institution’s engagement with contemporary issues, providing alternative spaces for information and debate. In addition to the content published on the main website, the CCA reaches broader audiences through alternative channels including award-winning exhibition microsites such as www.cca-actions.org and www.sorryoutofgas.org, regular iTunes podcasts, YouTube videos, and a Facebook presence, among others.

The CCA is an international research centre and museum founded on the conviction that architecture is a public concern. Over the years it has increased public awareness of the role of architecture in society, promoted scholarly research in the field, and stimulated innovation in design practice. The CCA opened to the public in 1989 as a new type of cultural institution, and has produced internationally recognised exhibitions, programs, research, and publications. In addition to the launch of a new website, the CCA celebrates its 20th anniversary with an ambitious series of activities throughout 2009.
