From September 9–12, 2021, the eighth edition of POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair will take place at Tempelhof Airport. POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair invites international galleries to apply with their most important positions of contemporary and modern art. Applications are open until May 23, 2021.

After last year’s overwhelming response, POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair heralds the eagerly awaited art season in Berlin from September 9–12,  2021 and enables international galleries to finally make new contacts and present their artistic programme to a large audience of curators, institutions, journalists and collectors - and last but not least to sell art.

A well-proven hygiene concept as well as the spacious hangars of Tempelhof Airport, which in addition to the high ceilings and light-flooded halls with the open space in front and the airfield, provide a unique and airy showcase for the art presentation, guarantee safety and a relaxed atmosphere. A programmatic use and staging with special exhibitions, lounge areas and large-scale sculptures is also planned for the tarmac this year.

The former Berlin-Tempelhof Airport, the largest monument in Europe, the place of the Berlin Airlift and more than 50 years of civil air traffic, has long been a symbol of freedom and a stage for cosmopolitanism and international exchange. In September 2021 during the POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair it will be turned again into a showcase for art and will provide an auratic environment for the presentations with its monumental architecture and eventful history.

POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair is official partner of Berlin Art Week, which jointly presents selected exhibition openings of Berlin’s major museums and institutions such as KW Institute of Contemporary Art, Berlinische Galerie, Gropius Bau, Hamburger Bahnhof and Berlin’s numerous private museums.

This year we are once again in close contact with government officials and are planning for various scenarios to best protect the health and security of all parties involved, exhibitors, visitors, and members of staff. The team of POSITIONS Berlin would be happy to answer your questions. And please do not hesitate to contact us by email: application [at]
