The opening of the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg in 1994 marked the beginning for its highly distinguished collection of contemporary art. Today the museum’s collection as well as its exhibition program enjoys a remarkable international reputation and bestows in its role as a formative cultural feature a far reaching radiance to the city of Wolfsburg.

On the occasion of the museum’s 15th anniversary director Markus Brüderlin stages and presents the collection in a new light. 15 Years of Collecting – Against the Grain denotes a unique display that places works by established artists in dialog with the practices of a new artist generation.
