Frans Masereel Centrum is welcoming applications for its 2022 Residency Programs, offering three- or six-week residencies to selected applicants. Both our Artist Residency and Essay Residency programs will be held between January and September 2022. All details and the online application form are available here.
The focus of our residency programs lies on development and creation in our professionally equipped workshops. We are in particular looking for contemporary artists that wish to investigate printed matter in all its aspects, or to embrace it as part of a broader artistic practice. No prior knowledge of printmaking techniques is required.
Since its inauguration in 1972, the Frans Masereel Centrum has grown into one of the most challenging and inspiring environments for artists and critics interested in printed matter-at-large. Each year approximately 50 national and international artists, researchers, critics and academics are selected through an open call.
