The present call invites applications for Chief Curator(s) for the Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2025 (seventh edition) to be held in Lisbon, Portugal from September to December 2025. We welcome individual and collective applications from professionals with a proven background in curating or large-scale event management, pertinent education and experience, and the ability to congregate inspiring guests. A strong commitment to equal opportunities, diversity and sustainability is also a valuable asset.
The Triennale 2025 is an event conceived and produced by a private non-profit association whose mission is to research, foster and promote architectural thinking and practice. It is a major forum for the debate, discussion and dissemination of architecture that crosses geographic and disciplinary boundaries. Part of an international professional network, it is one of the most prominent architecture festivals in the world. Over the previous sixth editions, it has grown into a pioneering and broadly acclaimed architecture event appealing to both experts and general audience worldwide.
About
The chief curator determines the concept, content, and theme or title of the Triennale 2025 for a two-month programme that encompasses:
–Three major exhibitions aiming to unveil original and complementary perspectives, co-organised with leading cultural institutions in Lisbon.
–Three books expanding the curatorial perspectives of the major exhibitions.
–Three-day conference series gathering 12 to 16 speakers.
–Three awards: Universities, Début and Lifetime Achievement.
–10 to 15 independent projects selected through an open call to amplify the debate by disclosing a broader creative and cultural view.
How to apply
Applications written in English must be submitted using an online form. The selection criteria will consider aspects such as relevance of the theme, originality of the proposal, suitability for the Triennale’s goals, structure and nature of the curatorial team and candidate’s experience.
