The boundary-defying and passionate visions that guide the work at Tensta Konsthall have drawn attention both nationally and internationally these past 10 years. The exhibition programming has focused on international contemporary art, and has mainly involved original in-house productions of exhibitions. Right now, Tensta Konsthall is showing DADALENIN, artist Rainer Ganahl’s first major solo exhibition in Scandinavia.
The site, located in Tensta in Stockholm, is the point of departure for our work, and part of the programming involves school and educational projects. The institution has also initiated collaboration with the City of Stockholm and its development program for the Järva area, to which Tensta itself belongs. We are looking for a director that can continue this work.
Work Description
Tensta Konsthall is run by a foundation whose purpose is to promote the showing of high quality art, produce exhibitions, and to teach and educate people about art, along with the organization of art related activities. Your assignment is to lead and develop the programs, in both their artistic and administrative aspects. Your responsibilities include exhibition and programming activities, finances, as well as directing the staff of about six part-time employees as well as project based and hourly employees.
Your background
You are knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to the international contemporary art scene. We would prefer you to have launched or run a similar establishment before, and have experience in leading your staff to strive for high quality results with limited resources.
