The Head of the Department of Culture for the City of Munich, Prof. Dr. Dr. Lydia Hartl, announced this week that the City is engaged in a search for a new Director for the municipal Museum Villa Stuck as of January 2007.

In announcing her resignation, the present Director, Jo-Anne Birnie Danzker, noted that after 15 years at the Museum Villa Stuck and the successful conclusion of the restoration and renovation of the Villa in 2005 – it is an appropriate occasion for me to hand over responsibility for the museum to a new Director. We have an excellent team and superb exhibition conditions for a new leadership. Birnie Danzker will continue her curatorial career with a specialization on international research and exhibition projects.
