The archive of the exhibition Eiko Ishioka: Blood, Sweat, and Tears—A Life of Design is available to view online for a limited period until March 31, 2022.
The retrospective exhibition of acclaimed art director Eiko Ishioka was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo from November 2020 to February 2021, and caused a major sensation across generations. On this occasion, the entire exhibition with its comprehensive showcasing of work is once again brought to life through high quality 360°VR and exhibition highlights.
Although this exhibition marked the world’s first retrospective of Eiko Ishioka, who was active internationally across a diverse range of fields, it could only be viewed by limited audiences due to the exhibition period coinciding with the government-issued COVID-19 state of emergency in Tokyo. We hope that this online presentation will create an opportunity to communicate the significance of Eiko Ishioka’s life and work on a much wider scale to viewers across the globe.
