The Neuer Berliner Kunstverein will be presenting the Video Art Week in its exhibition rooms during the period from Monday, 13th June to Friday, 17th June 2005, at 7 p.m. each evening.
After last years series “Illuminating Video”, which focused on international artists, this time around our attention is directed towards various methods of handling video art demonstrated by mediators and intermediaries in the field. The spectrum of formats ranges from interactively based projects, such as the presentation by the London collective tank.tv, and theoretical questions addressing the moving image and space, such as the lecture by Iris Dressler, to presentations by individual artist personalities, like Euridice Arratias screening on Patty Chang, and Anne Maiers introduction to video art from the Lebanon, which focuses on a scene as yet almost unknown to a wider audience. In addition, the Video Art Week will again be adopting the format of discussion with artists: Pipilotti Rist is invited to talk to Kathrin Becker.
