Director’s post
The National Centre of Art and Landscape is situated in the Limousin region of France on an island in the middle of a 1000 hectare lake, part of a new economic plan linked to the touristic activity. The island is over 70 hectares and the cultural activity of this exceptional site is based on the relationship of the arts, the territory and the landscape.
The National Centre of Art and Landscape was designed by the architectes Aldo Rossi and Xavier Fabre and is part of the national heritage of the XXth century. The sculpture park, composed of 30 works created in situ, develops on the island.
The territory is part of the regional nature reserve of Millevaches.
Description of the post
The principal financers are the French Ministry of Culture and the Limousin Region. In charge of the National Centre of Art and Landscape. The Director has the following responsabilties :
Define and accomplish an artistic and cultural project which takes into account the development of the territory but also that of the public (visitors)
Administrative and financial responsability of the association
Define and accomplish the artistic projects on the Island (sculpture park)
Development of the national centre of ressources “Art and Landscape” in relation with the Ministry of education
New financial partners
Profile
Experience in directing and managing a cultural enterprise
Profound knowledge of visual arts and landscape on national and international levels
Capacity to elaborate a cultural project intergrating the rural development scheme
Capacity to negotiate
Complete professional availability
Good knowledge of communication techniques, at ease with writing, open mind
Should speak and write fluent french
Salary
Will be determined in relation to the experience of the candidate. The monthly salary requested by the candidate should be stipulated in the letter of application.
