Carrie Mae Weems presents selections from recent film and video works including Coming Up for Air and Meaning and Landscape. A leading American visual artist best known for photography and installations, Weems invites viewers to consider issues of race, gender, and class.
Film and media exhibitions at MoMA Film at The Gramercy Theatre continue through April 7, 2004. While there will be no programs at The Gramercy Theatre after this date, certain film and media exhibitions will take place at various sites in Manhattan during the subsequent months. Updates on future film and media exhibitions will continue to be available through www.MoMA.org. A full schedule of film and media programs will resume in the new Museum of Modern Art when it reopens in winter 2004-05.
