-scope Art Fair Inc. is pleased to announce that the third annual -scopeNew York will take place from Friday, March 12 through Monday, March 15, 2004, at the new Hotel Gansevoort, located at 9th Avenue and 13th Street.

-scopeNew York is launching an innovative new program: -scopeCircle’s Committee for Emerging Art. The Committee will curate an exhibition of emerging artists in the public spaces of the Hotel Gansevoort and also will select the recipient of the -scopeNew York 2004 Emerging Artist Grant from the five finalists voted on by visitors to the fair. Members of the Committee include Laurie Anderson, Louise Bourgeois, Beth Rudin De Woody, Philip Glass, Bill T. Jones, Ilya Kabakov, Robert Longo, Patrick McMullan, Andree Putman, Lou Reed, James Rosenquist, John L. Stewart (Chairman), John Waters, Benjamin Weill, and Wendy Whelan.

The Emerging Artist Grant for -scopeNew York 2003 has been awarded to Christian Holstad. Holstad will be participating in the Whitney Biennial 2004. The recipient of the Independent Curator Award for -scopeMiami 2003 is Robert Knafo.
