The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) invites nominations and applications for the position of Director of the School of Art and Design, with appointment effective August 2003.

The School is seeking an individual of outstanding creative or scholarly achievement, whose strong articulate leadership will continue to provide high national visibility for its programs.

Professional degree and/or equivalent recognition of an active practice within one of the School’s art and design disciplines or related field, which may include museum or curatorial practice, contemporary art and design theory/criticism, arts administration or advocacy.

Appointment as Director will be at the rank of associate or full professor. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. Send letter of application, vitae, a list of five academic and/or professional references, statement of interest, and 12 slides representative of your visual work or one example of recent scholarly work to:
