>From 23 April to 8 June 2002, the Sollertis Gallery will be showing the recent works of the German photographer Roland Fischer, encompassing his three major cycles on the theme of architecture: Facades, Cathedrals and, for the very first time, South Central.
The artist proposes an exploration of clearly defined architectural styles, and thus tends towards an in-depth understanding of the architectural fact. Roland Fischer’s work opens the photographic language up to new perspectives by way of on-going and evolutive experimentation with the technological wherewithal, prompted by a unifying conceptual attitude.
Born in Saarbrucken in 1958; lives and works in Munich. A retrospective of Roland Fischer’s work will be shown in 2003 at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.
