GABRIUS PUBLISHES NEW BOOK BY TIMOTHY GREENFIELD-SANDERS
GABRIUS
World-renowned portrait photographer captures famous and infamous faces from the worlds of architecture, film, music, politics, science, sports, theatre and especially the visual arts.
Sure to be one of the most popular visual books available this fall, TIMOTHY GREENFIELD-SANDERS offers over 350 intimate studies of luminaries from all walks of life, including: Mohammed Ali, David Bowie, David Byrne, Francesco Clemente, Hillary Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Willem de Kooning, Al Gore, Vaclav Havel, Jasper Johns, Monica Lewinsky, Toni Morrison, Lou Reed and Steven Spielberg. Working in a characteristically minimalist style, Greenfield-Sanders usually limits himself to a single light source and presents his subjects against a dark background. Most of his work is shot in super-large format with a 20 x 24-inch Polaroid or his antique 11 x 14-inch view camera.
Gabrius, the new art and finance multimedia company based in New York and Milan, is publishing this book through Alberico Cetti Serbelloni Editore, one of the company’s art publishing divisions. Edited by Demetrio Paparoni who has followed the artist’s work for over ten years, the book includes an introductory text by the artist Francesco Clemente, followed by an essay by Demetrio Paparoni and a critical anthology with texts by Jeremy Gilbert-Rolfe, Stephen Greco, Peter Halley, Christina Kelly, Wayne Koestenbaum, Demetrio Paparoni, Robert Pincus-Witten, Lou Reed, Jerry Saltz, Doug and Mike Starn and Mark Strand, and an autobiography chronicling the stages of Greenfield-Sanders’ career.
TIMOTHY GREENFIELD-SANDERS is a bilingual edition with text in English and Italian. Images are printed in five colors, and the 240-page folio is 9 1/2 x 12 3/4″ (24 x 32 cm), with a hard cloth cover and slipcase. The book may be purchased at bookstores in the U.S. and Italy or by calling Gabrius at 212-813-3311.
In addition to the book itself, Gabrius is also offering prints from TIMOTHY GREENFIELD-SANDERS which are available for purchase in the Printstore section of the website as well as by calling Gabrius at 212-813-3311.
