The 12th annual edition of Art Miami, held January 4 – 8, 2002 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, boasts the most concentrated presentation of Latin American and Spanish art for sale in the United States. Gateway to Latin America and home to the international elite, Miami continues to support an increasingly sophisticated and global market for fine art. South Florida’s most well attended and fashionable fair–which also features prominent galleries from Europe, Asia, and North America–launches the cultural season by offering a sampling of the hottest trends pioneered by emerging international galleries and welcoming established galleries that comprise the leading specialists in 20th century art. The solid mix of artwork on view at Art Miami speaks to the diverse and knowledgeable range of collectors visible on the international art scene.
Opening Night Preview
On Friday, January 4, 2002, Art Miami kicks off its 12th exposition with a cocktail preview, offering patrons the exciting opportunity to view Art Miami before it opens to the public. Now considered a January tradition, Art Miami’s opening night celebration sets the tone for a weekend of non-stop art happenings.
