Curt Marcus Gallery presents an exhibition of sculpture by Barry Le Va, Richard Nonas and Fred Sandback.
Since the late 1960s, these three artists have been developing their work distinctly within the canon of minimalism. In this new exhibition they continue to break new ground: Barry Le Va’s Sorting, Cataloguing: Heads, Limbs, Torsos Family X (Partially Accounted For) 1998-2001 is comprised of cast hydrastone, wood and rubber, and is installed in the large gallery; Richard Nonas’s Saved From Drowning (For Yoa) 2001 consists of twelve 250lb steel rods spanning from the smaller gallery into the large; and, Fred Sandback’s Untitled 1969/2001 is a work in two parts, made of yarn, which frames the main walls in both galleries.
