We warmly invite you to apply to our MFA and PhD programs by March 1 for a July start. We have found several ways to support you through this process with monthly info sessions, one-to-one zoom sessions, and a crash course on practice-based research. We are excited to chat with you and explore your goals.

Trajectory
Your practice will entwine making, writing and reflection to become rigorous and original creative research—in short; your practice is the research. Your research will culminate in the submission of an integrated thesis, which can include a presentation, exhibition, publication, reading, performance, screening, workshop and/or other forms of dissemination.

Programs
Our praxis-centered programs revolve around local and virtual residencies. Participate in presentations, symposia, fora, topical workshops, research seminars, exhibitions, screenings, cultural excursions, sound baths, listening sessions and other events to enrich your praxis. Join us in the year ahead in Mexico City, Liverpool and New York.

One-year MFA
Our Creative Practice Master of Fine Art is for artists, curators, writers, performers, and other creative researchers with an established practice and a particular research question or project. Flexible, rigorous, self-directed and expansive, Transart’s MFA supports you in creating a sustainable praxis while you develop a global community of peers and advisors. Fast-tracking to the PhD in your second summer is an option.

Practice PhD
Our Creative Research PhD is for everyone with a specific project or question/s whose practice embodies or essentially drives their research. Your tenure in the program will transform your practice and your awareness of what it can do, significantly contributing to knowledge and practice in your field and augmenting your credentials for academic positions, grants and inclusion in research projects.

Admissions
March 1 deadline for a July start with summer residency in Liverpool.

Practice-based creative research crash course (free)
Invitation to drill deeper into creative research. This three week course is designed to explore what creative research is, clarify your direction, and get you ready for your practice-based PhD or MFA. Sessions include  a round table and primer, proposal development workshop, and a one-to-one feedback. February 10, 17, 24, sign up here.

Lead workshop sessions
Call for teaching and advising proposals. Propose to give a workshop live in Liverpool or New York or by Zoom here. Propose a session for our “Entangling theory” series—these sessions pay close attention to a particular philosopher, theorist of school of thought from the perspective of their entanglement with practice.

Advise MFA & PhD students
