Städelschule opens its doors to the public for Rundgang, the annual student exhibition, featuring open studios, lectures, performances, and screenings with free admission to all programs.

Throughout the course of three days, visitors have access to the presentations of works by students from the classes of Fine Arts Professors Monika Baer, Gerard Byrne, Benjamin Foerster-Baldenius, Judith Hopf, Hassan Khan, Tobias Rehberger, Willem de Rooij, and Haegue Yang; Art Theory Professors Daniel Birnbaum and Isabelle Graw, Guest Professors Clémentine Deliss, Niklas Maak and Asad Raza, Research Fellow Monika Szewczyk, and Visiting Author Omar Kasmani. Students exhibit recent works at both locations, Dürerstrasse 10 and Daimlerstasse 32, with scheduled film screenings at the DFF–Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum cinema. Additionally, an accompanying program of performances by students will be presented. A selection of Städelschule and Portikus publications and editions are available for purchase in the library. At Portikus you will have a last opportunity to visit the exhibition Inflorescence by Ximena Garrido-Lecca, which will close on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Opening hours at Städelschule during RundgangFebruary 10–12, 2023, 10am–8pm daily.

11am–1pm, 2–4pm: Smelling Snow: A Tea Ritual by Ming Yuan (garden in front of Aula, Dürerstrasse 10)
2–3pm: Porcelina, a performance by Panatchakorn Viratmalee (Aula, Dürerstrasse 10)
3–4pm: Generous Enormous Hole, a book presentation by Vera Varlamova (upper Lichthof, Dürerstrasse 10)
7–8pm: Opening and award ceremony* (Mensa, Dürerstrasse 10)
from 11pm: Rundgang party (Daimlerstrasse 32)

*Press reception at the rector’s office, followed by a guided tour through selected studios of Dürerstrasse 10 and Daimlerstrasse 32 in German and English. Shuttle service between sites available. Smelling Snow: A Tea Ritual by Ming Yuan (garden in front of Aula, Dürerstrasse 10)
4–4:30pm: Shattered (IV), a performance by Camille Clair (Aula, Dürerstrasse 10)
4–6pm: The exhibition Inflorescence by Ximena Garrido-Lecca will be activated with the traditional Peruvian corn drink chicha de jora (Portikus).
4:30pm: Driving range divots, 2023, a performative walk with a map handed out at the meeting point at the main entrance of the studios (Daimlerstrasse 32).
6pm: double hunger // transcendent third: the interfusion of forces as they dissolve in time, a performance by Colette Sarjano Utama McDonald (Aula, Dürerstrasse 10)
7pm: Un/Prompted, readings by participants of the seminar entitled Poetic Counterworldings (Aula, Dürerstrasse 10)

6pm: double hunger // transcendent third: the interfusion of forces as they dissolve in time, a performance by Colette Sarjano Utama McDonald (Aula, Dürerstrasse 10)

Film screenings
Rundgang is accompanied by a film program at the DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum, presented in time blocks on each of the three days. A selection of short films and cinematic sketches from all fine art classes by Arhun Arasakal, Rachel Ashton, Gabbi Cattani, Hyera Choi, Gabriele Ciulli, Camille Clair, Sam Cottington, Elisa Diafera, Rashiyah Elanga, John Hussain Flindt, Uma Kim Gómez, Giulia Guidi, Zishi Han, Paul Haas, Louis Hay, Neil Hoey, Raúl Itamar, Mahya Ketabchi, Gašper Kunšič, Antonio López, Giulia Poppi, Salome Potskhverashvili, Mahmoud Tarek, Jia Jun Nicholas Toh, Alicja Wysocka and Weronika Wysocka will be shown. Reservation needed, free tickets are available via the website of the film museum. Publications and editions
In the library at Dürerstrasse 10, it is possible to view and purchase the latest Städelschule, Portikus and student publications and editions, with proceeds from the former directly benefiting students. Opening hours: daily, 10am–6pm.

Mensa
Under the direction of the Mensa team Bouhlou, Aman and Max, students offer food and drinks. Opening hours: Dürerstrasse 10, daily 10am–6pm and Daimlerstrasse 32daily 11am–5pm.

Portikus
Established in 1987, as an extension of Städelschule’s public programs, Portikus is dedicated to exhibiting, publishing and discussing the work of emerging as well as established artists. During Rundgang, Ximena Garrido-Lecca’s exhibition Inflorescence, curated by Liberty Adrien and Carina Bukuts, will be on view. More information on the Portikus website. Opening hours: Tuesday–Friday, 12–7pm, Saturday–Sunday, 11am–7pm, admission free.
