The Division of Arts and Humanities at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for an open rank Arts Professor (continuing contract) for a multi-year appointment in printmaking in The Art and Art History Program. The Program is in the midst of exciting renewal as we fulfill our commitment to equity-focused teaching practices and diversity in the design of our curriculum and new degrees. We are eager to welcome a colleague whose experiences, training, and practices will contribute to our efforts in understanding the richly diverse landscape of artists and artistic production. We are looking for an artist who is versed in the expanded field of printmaking to encompass drawing, painting, photography and specialist printmaking techniques. We would especially welcome expertise in lithography, screen printing and etching. The candidate should be open to teach and explore the various cultural histories of the field. We seek an artist and a dynamic teacher-scholar with an MFA and a track record of excellence in both teaching and creative work and the professional background to teach all levels of undergraduate and graduate level. We welcome an artist who is interested in forging interdisciplinary connections at NYUAD and with the region. The successful applicant will also have demonstrated commitment to service, including mentoring and advising students from diverse backgrounds and a desire to shape the future of the program through leadership roles and curriculum development. It is expected that the successful candidate will help develop and expand the resources of the existing printmaking studio at NYUAD. Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching and advising in the Program, teaching in the Core Curriculum, and service to the university. A minimum of three years teaching experience is required.
