Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD) is pleased to announce two full-time, tenure track positions at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture.
The Harvard GSD Department of Architecture educates leaders in design, research, and scholarship to make a resilient, just, and beautiful world. Guided by a distinguished international faculty prominent across the breadth of the field, students are challenged to consider many different approaches to design. Visiting practitioners, critics, and theorists from around the world supplement faculty teaching, and together they introduce students to current issues and trends in contemporary architectural design. Central to the department’s philosophy is a commitment to design excellence that demands the skillful manipulation of form while drawing inspiration from a broad body of knowledge. Instruction and research consist of work in design theory as well as visual studies, history, technology, and professional practice. Harvard GSD’s diverse offerings, resources, and research expose students to the latest in technological advances, ecological thinking, and social imperatives, positioning design as a leader in responding to concerns about global quality of life and the future of cities.
Harvard GSD is comprised of three academic departments (Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Planning & Design). Alongside the degree programs offered by those departments, the GSD also offers other degree programs in related fields. The GSD is one of the 12 degree-granting schools that make up Harvard University.
