Applications for postgraduate courses in Art at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London are open for 2024 entry. Deadline: April 3, 1pm (UK time).
“One of the most important things on the Art programme is the sense of community amongst the students. We create a really positive environment in the studios where students learn from one another, peer to peer, as well as from staff and technicians. They’re discovering new ways of making and showing art, so really what they’re doing is transforming the landscape of art for the future.” —Alex Schady, Programme Director, Art
A note to applicants from the US: University of the Arts London participates in US federal student aid programs which means that US applicants may be eligible for federal loans to help cover the cost of study.
MA Art and Science

MA Contemporary Photography; Practices and Philosophies
MA Contemporary Photography; Practices and Philosophies is a fine art photography course which merges research with practice. The course is rooted in the idea that photography has no self-limiting identity or essence. Creating visually exciting and intellectually compelling work, you will develop as an artist with photography at the core of your practice.
MA Fine Art
MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins supports a broad range of experimental practices. It will test and challenge your practice, bringing it into a contemporary critical context. Our research-based teaching strategies actively seek to extend your experience and skills. We work responsively to your changing needs as individuals. We also encourage collaborative projects in relation to your work.
MA Fine Art: Digital
Explore what it means to be an artist today, from anywhere in the world. Whatever your art specialism, this online learning space allows you to question fine art practice in a digital context.
MRes Art: Exhibition Studies
Delivered in collaboration with Afterall Research Centre, this course examines the history of contemporary art from the perspective of the exhibition form—analysing how artworks are encountered by publics and shaped by display, discourse and critical reception. The course is directly tailored to individual interests and strengths, offering rigorous research training and a supportive environment for advanced study.
MRes Art: Moving Image
MRes Art: Moving Image offers an ambitious, discursive and critical framework in which you will engage with the implications of artists’ moving image. The pathway has a strong professional focus. This is characterised by the unique link with LUX, the London-based agency for artists’ moving image.
MRes Art: Theory and Philosophy
MRes Art: Theory and Philosophy is for artists and writers who want to study philosophy and art from a contemporary perspective. You will investigate how radical innovations in philosophy today can facilitate not just an understanding of art, but also how they can shape developments in contemporary culture and art practice.
