ART021 announces its participating galleries at the eleventh edition, which will take place at Shanghai Exhibition Center from November 9–12. To mark the highest number of exhibitors as well as the largest scale of the fair to date, it sees about 150 participating galleries from 16 countries and regions, and 34 cities worldwide, bringing forth nearly ten thousand artworks. ART021 will showcase a vigour art scene and increasing interest in international exchange.
Main Galleries presents 129 finest galleries, among them 24 galleries are participated for the first time. Numerous blue-chip galleries include Almine Rech, Daivd Zwirner, Gladstone, Gagosian, White Cube and Perrotin, to name a few. They will provide outstanding contemporary art to kick off the most important art feast in China this year. Some galleries from art hotspots all over the world bring all-embracing artworks in line with leading edge of global contemporary practice. This year also sees galleries presenting collectible design and art jewelry to make more inspiration. Immersive space will be designed to adapt at the fair by a world-class digital art gallery Triple X.
As a strong supporter for Chinese contemporary art, ART021 champions galleries from 17 cities across the country. It includes representative galleries from top-tier cities like Tang Contemporary Art, Hive Center for Contemporary Art, ShanghART and Antenna Space. Others from regions such as Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Xinjiang also showcase a dynamic force, exploring the artistic resources within the local context and integrated with diverse regional and cultural frameworks.
Approach focuses on emerging galleries who represent for different regions and cultural contents and grow up together with young artists. Featuring 20 galleries and eleven of them are new comers, it will showcase the young force from China, Korea, Greece, Japan, France, Canada, Latvia, and Russia. Their works span from painting, sculpture, installation and video, digging the possibilities with culture differences in today’s world.
Beyond aims to break the boundaries, creating brand new artistic forms and experiences through site-specific installations. Special Project includes auction houses, non-profit institutions, designer studios and art publish house, to name a few. They will demonstrate the broader vision and cultural depth of the fair.
