The much-anticipated photography exhibition See Another by master artist Serpil Yeter is now on display to unveil a treasure trove of previously unseen creations. Recognized for skillfully interweaving social narratives with diverse textures and motifs, Yeter’s exhibition enticing the viewing public at Anna Laudel Istanbul until February 23, 2024.

See Another reveals Yeter’s observations and encounters in Istanbul’s local markets during the year 2000, which are  accompanied by innovative sound installations throughout the exhibition space. Yeter has meticulously captured each market stall as an art installation with the precision of an artist who has mastered her craft. By framing these scenes through the lens of her camera, Yeter invites the audience to embark on a nostalgic journey through time, providing a unique perspective on a local market that thrived at the cusp of the millennium.

Serpil Yeter 
Born in Istanbul in 1956, Serpil Yeter studied at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, Department of High Painting, from 1975 to 1981. Throughout her career, she has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows, mostly abroad, in museums and galleries. The artist lived in Berlin, Germany, from 1980 to 2002, and since 2002, she has been working in Istanbul. 

Serpil Yeter has showcased her solo exhibitions in cities such as Hamburg, Berlin, Dormagen, Göttingen, Freiburg, Bremen, Darmstadt, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Kiel, Essen, Toronto, Lörrach, Antalya, Ankara, Izmir, and Çeşme since 1983. She has also participated in over 70 group exhibitions in cities including Berlin, Bonn, Brussels, Wuppertal, Göttingen, Bremen, Mannheim, Düsseldorf, Magdeburg, Graz, Vienna, Derneburg, Solingen, Gräfrath, Istanbul, Toronto, Ankara, Riga, Bodrum, Izmir, Eskişehir, and Bodrum, both nationally and internationally. Serpil Yeter’s works can be found in numerous museums and private collections both in Turkey and abroad.
