The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture’s Spring 2025 Lecture Series aims to create and explore discourse on critical topics within the study and practice of architecture, design, planning and the built environment.
Beginning February 3 and continuing throughout the semester, lecturers representing a broad cross-section of cultural practices — including architects, urban planners, landscape architects, interior designers and urban designers — will present talks that build on the school’s ongoing exploration of contemporary topics across scales, modes of engagement and geographies.
This semester’s speakers include Albert Pope of Rice Architecture; Stephen Cassell of Architecture Research Office; Daniel Escotto of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM); Yinka Ilori and Andy Campbell in conversation; Ananya Roy of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA); Wyatt Armstrong of Architecture Workshop; Eric Bunge of nARCHITECTS; Shannon Nichol of GGN; and Brigitte Shim and A. Howard Sutcliffe of Shim-Sutcliffe Architects.
In addition to the lecture series, the School of Architecture will host three spring exhibitions beginning with “Micropolitan America,” designed and curated by Assistant Professor of Practice Kyriakos Kyriakou (January 9–February 14). The second exhibition will be Celebrating 100 Years of John S. Chase, curated by Assistant Professor Tara A. Dudley, Ph.D. (January 23–February 28). The final exhibition of the semester will be “Jaguar Lens,” designed and curated by Assistant Professor of Practice Juana Salcedo (February 26–April 11) with an exhibition opening talk on February 28.
All events are free and open to the public and will occur in person at 5pm in the Goldsmith Lecture Hall (310 Inner Campus Drive, Room 3.120) unless noted otherwise.
