Weaving Realms: Two Collections in Conversation

The selection highlights works from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje and Moderna galerija, Ljubljana, featuring art made from natural materials, as well as pieces reflecting the artists' engagement with nature. It focuses on the emancipation of media, exploring the relationship between culture and nature, while critically addressing the environmental issues of the Capitalocene. Curated by Ivana Vaseva, Blagoja Varoshanec, Iva Dimovski, Vladimir Janchevski and Bojana Piškur.
The Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts

This year’s 70th edition is curated by Chus Martínez. In partnership with the International Centre of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana, Moderna galerija will present a part of the Biennale’s exhibition.
Translated into Socialism

The exhibition investigates the little-known history of the Turkish-speaking community in Yugoslavia. Initiated and researched by Pykë-Presje (Sezgin Boynik and Tevfik Rada) and curated by Merve Elveren, the project reveals the complex dynamics of internationalism and solidarity in a multinational socialist context. The first iteration of this project was realized in collaboration with Salt (Istanbul) and the Lumbardhi Foundation (Prizren).
Maja Bajević: A Short Histery of Our Times

For her solo exhibition, Maja Bajević will present new works that critically examine the contemporary resurgence of fascist ideologies, alongside the erasure of left-wing and Marxist ideals, reflecting on the past, present, and future implications of current politics. Curated by Bojana Piškur and Kristjan Sedej.
Matei Bejenaru: Songs for a Better Future

Featuring photographs and video works from 1994 to the present, this first comprehensive solo exhibition of Matei Bejenaru follows his long-standing engagement with people, places and everyday life, revealing some of the economic and social mechanisms behind the condition of the Eastern European societies. In collaboration with the Igor Zabel Association for Culture and Theory, Moderna galerija will honor Igor Zabel’s legacy with two exhibitions and a seminar dedicated to his work. Curated by Vladimir Vidmar.
Walid Raad: Festival of (In)Gratitude
November 20, 2025–May 17, 2026
Raad will present five installations that are a continuation of his three main projects: Scratching on things I could disavow, which refers to the formation of the art system in the Arab world in the midst of incessant conflicts and wars; The Atlas Group, which is based on his creation of documents on the wars in Lebanon; and Sweet Talk: Beirut (Commissions), a long-form documentary on the city of Beirut. All three projects deal with how violence affects bodies, minds, cities, and art. Curated by Zdenka Badovinac.
