Postgraduate Study at UWE Bristol School of Arts
Our expansive MA programmes have been redesigned for 2025 to reflect Bristol’s creative ecology, enhance multi-disciplinary opportunities, and connect progressive practices across the arts. We invite aspiring innovators and creatives to join our growing community of postgraduate students pushing boundaries and defining new directions for their disciplines.

Respect the discipline
Our future-focused curriculum celebrates deep disciplinary understanding, paired with the conceptual agility creatives require to address urgent contemporary issues. Working iteratively with dedicated teams of technical expertise, alongside our world-class research groups, and under the guidance of practicing artists and designers, our students experience significant development in their practice, with opportunities to collaborate across borders, expanding their ambitions into new and exciting spaces.

A significant programme of opportunities and events, with industry collaborators and international arts partners including ArnolfiniSpike IslandWatershedAardman and the Martin Parr Foundation, is designed to create a cohesive, inclusive postgraduate community – where new connections continue to shape your career long after you graduate.

UWE Bristol School of Art
The School stretches across our creative and cultural industries City Campus, which connects to major international arts centres across the city. We are a broad and inclusive School, with areas of excellence in the Interdisciplinary Arts, Screen Industries, Design and New Humanities. As a member of the College of Arts, Technology & the Environment, we share a mission to centre ecological sustainability and technological innovation in our teaching activity and celebrate the role the arts can play in confronting issues of social and climate injustice.

Just over an hour from London by train, and with an international airport close by, Bristol is very well connected. As the largest city in the Southwest, Bristol is celebrated as one of the biggest creative hotspots outside of London—an UNESCO City of Film, home to production companies, arts organisations, and a large, progressive community of artists and designers.
