A Unique Piazzetta in Old Town, Prague (CZ)
CCEA MOBA is launching the RaumScape, an urban design competition dedicated to redefining public space in the heart of Prague’s city center.
RaumScape—A Unique Piazzetta in Old Town, Prague
RaumScape aims to blend public space with new programs, shaping a vibrant urban landscape. This urban design competition seeks solutions that reimagine public space and architecture as a dynamic tapestry of interconnected layers within the urban fabric.
The competition approach is inspired by the unique concept of Raumplan, first introduced by Adolf Loos in the Müller Villa, built in Prague in 1930. Loos pioneered a spatial design method that moves beyond conventional floor levels, working with varied heights and intermediate levels to create fluid, interconnected spaces. RaumScape embraces this philosophy within the context of contemporary urban design.
We invite creative teams from around the world to take part in this exceptional project and seize the opportunity to shape the future of Prague’s city center—creating a space that will inspire and bring joy to residents and visitors alike. Open to urbanists, architects, landscape architects, placemakers—individually or in collaboration.
