Registration for ELIA Academy 2025

Registrations are open for ELIA Academy 2025: Life-Integrated Learning—a three-day exploration dedicated to arts teaching and learning and the advancement of higher arts education. Join ELIA and hosts, Kristiania University of Applied Sciences, in Oslo, Norway from June 18–20, 2025.

Higher arts education today spans the length and breadth of what it means to be human. Arts educators and students are expected to engage in creative discovery and personal and professional transformation, all channelled through inspiring, brave spaces and pedagogies of care. 

Sometimes life can get in the way—or does it
Life-Integrated Learning is theme of this year’s ELIA Academy, a concept that extends work-integrated learning to encompass the physical, emotional, environmental, societal, technological, and political dimensions we face in our daily lives.  At the ELIA Academy, we will examine how our individual and collective experiences can be integrated into teaching and learning practices.

Kristiania University of Applied Sciences in Oslo, Norway provides the perfect setting, a supportive environment underpinned by positivity, where arts practitioners, technicians, students, and educators are encouraged to be curious, open to thought-provoking pedagogies and methodologies, bubbling works-in-progress, and the sharing of invaluable feedback with their international peers.

As guiding lights for each other, we aim to discover new alternatives. We investigate the nature of the ties that connect us within our institutions, across artistic disciplines, and to industries and sectors beyond. We ask how generational knowledge, and diverse perspectives can build resilience and empower arts students to face the unknown with confidence.

What to expect
Sometimes it's better to go off piste, off script, seek outside the curriculum... or perhaps bring outside elements into the classroom, lecture theatre or studio.  With an illuminating programme of workshops, presentations, keynotes, panel discussions, breakouts, and artistic interventions, participants are encouraged to push their work forward in new, dynamic directions for the betterment of our craft, our communities, our society and our wellbeing.

From individual passes to institutional packages, the ELIA Academy offers a variety of ways to participate. The institutional package is ideal for staff, teams, and students who want to join remotely while also allowing two representatives to attend in person in Oslo.
