Applications are now open for our Masters Programmes in the Department of Art and Media Technology, Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton.  

MA Arts and Cultural Leadership / MA Contemporary Curating, one year full-time / two years part-time options / MA Digital Media Practices / MA Fine Art, one year full-time / two years part-time options / MSc Creative Technologies.

Set in a campus defined by green spaces and cutting-edge facilities, Winchester School of Art is home to artists, designers, theorists, performers, writers and others, often working with a social purpose. The Department of Art and Media Technology nourishes work across disciplines with workshops, labs and studios providing the time, space and mentorship for cross-pollination to take place. We are a welcoming and inclusive community where you can grow your practice in a supportive environment while drawing from the extensive resources offered by The University of Southampton, part of the prestigious Russell Group.  

We are a research-intensive department and our teaching shapes and is shaped by this research. Our faculty remains at the forefront of their fields, engaging in global academic and professional networks. Aside from the formal curriculum, you will have access to a rich programme of talks, exhibitions and other events at our Winchester and Southampton campuses. 

Winchester School of Art is enhanced by facilities like the Winchester Gallery, the soon-to-be opened Capital House space, and our specialist Arts Library and benefits from close links to the John Hansard Gallery and Turner Sims as part of The University of Southampton.  

Scholarships available
14 New Scholarships for Home students covering 50 percent of the tuition fees (on MA Arts and Cultural Leadership, MA Contemporary Curating, MA Fine Art and MSc Creative Technologies). Please note that you must have applied to join one of our Masters (full time or part time) by July 1 to be considered for these scholarships.

Winchester School of Art Progression Scholarship automatically awarded to undergraduate students at Winchester School of Art progressing to a Master’s degree.  

Southampton Arts and Humanities Deans Global Talent Scholarship up to 10,000 GBP for international students  

Sanctuary Scholarship covering 100 percent of tuition fee costs and bursary for students seeking sanctuary in the UK.  

Southampton Presidential International Scholarship open to international students

International students: Tuesday July 29, 2025, midday UK time / Home students: Tuesday September 9, 2025, midday UK time.
