Galería Ana Tejeda is pleased to announce a new chapter in a new space, featuring a renewed artistic vision that marks a significant moment in the gallery’s history. The gallery’s program is shaped by a conceptual framework focused on social themes related to feminism, Latin America, and broader societal concerns. This approach includes a rigorous schedule of exhibitions, participation in national and international art fairs, and collaborations with globally recognized institutions. The gallery’s structure encompasses both the representation of artists and projects with guest artists, opening the space to practices engaged with current critical discourses.
As a fundamental step of this transformation, the gallery inaugurated its physical space in the Polanco neighborhood on September 4, 2025. The gallery’s new and unique venue, located at Arquímedes 175, opened with a solo exhibition by represented artist Yohanna M. Roa (Colombia, 1978), curated by Semíramis González.
The exhibition, Lessons to Understand Art History, conceived specifically for this inaugural occasion, reflects on the representation of women in painting and Western art history, questioning the patriarchal canons that have historically shaped these narratives. Through a feminist and decolonial lens, the artist reclaims textile work as an act of technical subversion and cultural resistance.
The gallery’s program will continue with a group show with a gender perspective, curated by the renowned Mexican art historian and curator Karen Cordero Reiman. Todas las cosas se mezclaron con las palabras brings together an intergenerational group of women artists whose practices have explored the boundaries of feminist art in Latin America and beyond.
Likewise, within the framework of Mexico City Art Week in February 2026 and as part of ZsONAMACO EJES 2026, Galería Ana Tejeda will present a curated project titled Un río interminable, featuring works by Rosana Antolí (Spain, 1981), Ana Gallardo (Argentina, 1958), and Jorge Ismael Rodríguez (Mexico, 1960) (in the ZsONAMACO EJES 2026 section). The project will continue in a conceptual and expanded form at the gallery, also including a site-specific project by Rodolfo Suárez (Mexico, 2001), together with Antolí, Gallardo, and Rodríguez, in a dialogue under the concept of the river as a social space, a living body, and a network connecting distant shores, challenging the boundaries of extractivist, colonial, and patriarchal systems.
Through this profound renewal, Galería Ana Tejeda reaffirms its commitment to contemporary art as a tool for critical thought, social reflection, and aesthetic experimentation, positioning itself as a relevant platform within the Latin American and international art scenes.
