These words are by Stav Yeini—an artist who creates spaces where the body becomes an instrument of collective memory and transformation. Drawing on dream fragments, embodied listening, and the invisible architectures that connect us, her practice explores how communities can be reimagined in times of rupture.
For DC Open—Düsseldorf and Cologne’s annual weekend of gallery and art space openings—Yeini’s work unfolds across both the collective energy of the city and moments of intimate listening. Her performance for the Closing at Malkasten Park invites audiences to gather for the final encounters of the weekend, while the Velvet Collective presents an installation that can be experienced throughout the day.

At Velvet, Düsseldorf’s multidisciplinary space dedicated to contemporary sonic, gastronomic, and visual practices, Yeini's sensorial field merges water, frequency, and resonance into an experience of regeneration and deep attunement. Sessions by Toulouse Lowtrax, Monella, Gregor Darmann, Sebastian Welicki, and others throughout the weekend.

Sound immersion and launch of AWC Issue no. 37
In the historic park of Malkasten—Düsseldorf’s longstanding artists’ association and meeting place for experimental art—as DC Open’s closing event, this evening with Stav Yeini marks the launch of Arts of the Working Class (AWC) no. 37: an unseen weave of sound setting body, earth, and memory into resonance. AWC is an international street newspaper on art, poverty, and wealth, circulating in public space worldwide and created by artists, authors, and activists.
