On the Role of Practice: New thinking about the term “practice” as an expanded condition that surrounds and shapes cultural work, including the infrastructures, epistemic systems, and institutional norms through which practices are recognized, legitimized, supported, or contested. Hosted by Işın Önol (January).
The Algorithmic State: In this ongoing series of panel discussions concerning our era of digital culture, intelligent machines, and their social and ecological ramifications, artists Sougwen Chung and Xin Liu speak about their work. Hosted by Noam Segal (March 19).
And announcing the publication of MA Curatorial Practice Chair Steven Henry Madoff’s new book, Unseparate: Modernism, Interdisciplinary Art, and Network Aesthetics, from Stanford University Press. A book launch, with Madoff in conversation with poet and critic Barry Schwabsky, will take place on February 5 at 7pm at e-flux, 172 Classon Avenue, Brooklyn.
MA Curatorial Practice is a two-year master’s degree program in New York City that focuses on professional curatorial training with a thorough grounding in the relevant study of history, research, and theory.
