Donated by Prada and designed by Kazuyo Sejima of the Inujima “Art House Project”

Kagawa, Japan, July 30, 2025—Fukutake Foundation (Chairman: Hideaki Fukutake) unveiled a new permanent pavilion called HANA designed by Kazuyo Sejima at Inujima Life Garden (Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, Japan) on June 5, 2025. The pavilion was made possible thanks to a donation from the Italian fashion brand Prada.
Since 2008, Fukutake Foundation has worked with Sejima and artistic director Yuko Hasegawa to develop the community around the village of Inujima through art and architecture. Starting with the Inujima “Art House Project”, which opened in 2010, the foundation has engaged in ongoing activities in constant dialogue with locals. Prada is a longtime patron of contemporary culture and this donation has furthered its commitment to impactful cultural projects.
Fukutake Foundation would like to express its sincere gratitude for Prada’s deep understanding and support of its efforts in Inujima.
The pavilion HANA (“flower”) has a light structure that blends in with the natural surroundings, and features a visually striking and iconic design that enables new experiences for visitors to the botanical garden. On June-5, HANA was unveiled by Prada at the closed event INUJIMA PROJECT, where it was shown to stakeholders and the media for the first time, and served as the stage for talks and workshops in Inujima Life Garden. Ahead of the Setouchi Triennale 2025 (summer session August 1–31, autumn session October 3–November 9), we hope that HANA will become a place that makes the garden even more attractive to visitors from Japan and abroad as well as local islanders.
