What can cinema do and how can it think? The Master of Film is a two-year program for filmmakers, artists, and moving-image makers who want to reinvent cinema as both an artistic practice and a form of research.

This is a program built on process, experimentation, and risk-taking. Instead of centering polished results, it offers time, space, budget, and mentorship to probe new possibilities, expand your artistic vocabulary, and test what film can mean in contemporary culture. At the Master of Film, making becomes thinking and critical inquiry takes cinematic form.

At its core, the program is deeply invested in exploring each student’s situated urgencies, whether poetic, political, or both. It creates a space where personal artistic questions are addressed within wider cultural conversations, supporting projects that confront, rethink, and reimagine the world through cinema.

Who we are looking for
We welcome makers from all corners of the moving image including film, visual arts, performance, digital media, and beyond. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree, a strong portfolio, and at least four years of professional independent practice with the moving image. If you are ready to challenge conventions, dissolve boundaries, and actively shape the future of cinema, this program invites you to join the conversation and make your mark on the evolving landscape of moving-image art.

Information sessions
