Assembly is the annual showcase of participatory events, workshops, and presentations by PSU’s Art + Social Practice MFA cohort. Under this year’s banner, Assembly 2026: No Context, our cohort steps into the role of Portland-metro Artists-in-Residence—bringing collaborative and participatory art projects into public space.

Don't miss the featured exhibitions and lectures from our graduating students: Nina Vichayapai, Clara Harlow, Lou Blumberg, and Simeen Anjun. Come experience Portland—and your day-to-day routine—through an entirely new lens.

Assembly at KSMoCAWe are excited to present the work of DeepTime Collective created in collaboration with third grade students at Dr. MLK Jr. Elementary School. DeepTime Collective is KSMoCA visiting artists and is a collaboration between artists Amanda Leigh Evans and Tia Kramer that explores how people understand time, and how individual perceptions of time influence how we relate to the communities and environments that surround us.

The artist talk and exhibition opening are free and open to the public and will take place within Dr. MLK Jr. School, where KSMoCA is located. Please stop by the main office first to sign in and receive a “Visitor” sticker. KSMoCA is also a partner of the 2026 Oregon Contemporary Artists’ Biennial: The Price of the Ticket.

Assembly 2026: No Context is co-authored by artists Nina Vichayapai, Clara Harlow, Lou Blumberg, Simeen Anjum, Adela Cardona Puerta, Gwen Hoeffgen, Dom Toliver, Sarah Luu, Peery Sloan, Sarah Blesener, Haruka Ostley, Rose Lewis, Alex Deets, Midori Yamanaka, Laura Glazer, Dr. Kiara Hill, and Lisa Jarrett.

Free and open to the public. Come in person to any or all of the events. Check our Instagram for updates and visit the Assembly website for the complete schedule.
