Print sale
In honour of the organization’s 70th anniversary, World Press Photo has organized a print sale, 70 Prints for 70 Years, taking place from November 17–26, 2025. This limited-time sale invites the public to own a piece of visual history through a curated selection of 70 images from the World Press Photo archive.
Including historic and highly recognizable works, as well as younger and more diverse perspectives, the sale features 70 photographers from around the world. Images include: a collage of two of Ed van der Elsken’s photographs from Cuba (originally a spread in Avenue Magazine’s publication of his Cuba Avenue reportage in 1967), never been sold as a print before; Charlie Cole’s photograph of the ‘Tank Man’ in Beijing; an image from Diana Markosian’s series ‘The Cubanitas’; Neil Armstrong’s photo of Astronaut Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin on the moon; a photograph of a triumphant Muhammad Ali in 1965 by John Rooney; as well as photography by David Guttenfelder, Charlie Cole, Yael Martínez, Rena Effendi, Matt Black, Katie Orlinsky, Zied Ben Romane and Kiana Hayeri.

The collection tells the story of World Press Photo at 70. It includes winners of the annual World Press Photo Contest, as well as work from Joop Swart Masterclass (JSM) participants, highlighting World Press Photo’s ongoing focus on the next generation of visual storytellers. This is the first time in the history of the organization that a print sale has been organized with solely World Press Photo Contest awarded works and images from JSM.
Each of the 70 images are available to purchase as a limited-edition, museum-quality, 20 x 30 cm, available throughout the duration of the online sale only, priced at 150 EUR (180 USD / 135 GBP) unframed and 250 EUR (300 USD / 220 GBP) framed.
Also available are seven boxsets, where all 70 images from the sale are included for a special price of 7,000 EUR. These seven boxsets are handcrafted and made exclusively for the sale.
