The Newcomb Art Department at Tulane University is searching for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Studio Art (Glass). The Newcomb Art Department is at an exciting moment in its trajectory, committed to expanding on its commitment to reflecting the transnational networks of the contemporary art world and building on our connections to our culturally diverse and profoundly creative home city of New Orleans, itself a global cultural capital. We are searching for a collaborative faculty member in Studio Art with experience in glass and the expanded interdisciplinary field of contemporary sculpture. The ideal candidate will maintain an active program of research and creative work with national or international visibility. They will also possess a strong commitment to teaching and will employ an integrated approach to cultivating student artistic practices across traditional and emerging modalities in the Pace-Willson Glass Studio, a space that includes a hot shop, cold shop, kiln working, and metal working facilities. This faculty member will oversee the Glass Studio in all of its operations and will interface with ceramics and sculpture faculty who oversee adjacent equipment and spaces to the Glass Studio. Applicants need to apply by January 2, 2026 for full consideration.
