“Boiling Point: Emerging Artists and Spaces in Korea”

Monthly Art has published its second English special edition, “Boiling Point: Emerging Artists and Spaces in Korea”. Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Management Service, the issue features eight new art spaces—Caption Seoul, CHMBR, Faction, FIM, IAH, sangheeut, Shower, and WWNN—and eight young artists highlighted by the directors of these spaces.

With a bold red design by Studio Front-door and photographs by Kanghyuk Lee, “Boiling Point” captures the dynamics and creativity of Korea’s unique contemporary art scene. The stories of respective spaces, whose directors were interviewed by the editors of Monthly Art, offer comprehensive perspectives on emerging artists and raw artistic environments, as well as their interaction with a young audience deeply immersed in digital culture.

The issue also introduces Seoul’s cultural hotspots—bookstores, cafés, and clubs—that energize the city’s art community. “Boiling Point” is digitally accessible online on the link.
