Gallery Weekend Berlin

Gallery Weekend Berlin returns for its 22nd edition from May 1–3, 2026, once again highlighting the extraordinary international character of the city’s art scene. With 50 participating galleries presenting over 80 artistic positions across 63 locations, this year’s program will feature artists from more than 30 countries. New to the program in 2026 is the introduction of Perspectives, a rotating sector that expands the program with seven additional galleries and places a particular focus on ambitious exhibition projects and distinct artistic positions.
Guided by its distinctive spirit, Gallery Weekend Berlin will present a diverse and dynamic program featuring renowned artists such as Petrit Halilaj (ChertLüdde), Daniel Buren (Konrad Fischer Galerie), Tauba Auerbach (Esther Schipper), Thomas Demand (Sprüth Magers), Yuji Agematsu (Galerie Buchholz), and Rodney McMillian (Capitain Petzel). Alongside these established figures, a strong selection of emerging artists will be presented, including Brook Hsu (Kraupa-Tuskany Zeidler), Wynnie Mynerva (Société), Vivien Zhang (Galerie Max Hetzler), Travis MacDonald (Contemporary Fine Arts), and Brett Charles Seiler (Galerie EIGEN + ART). Interdisciplinary artists Stella Zhong (Trautwein Herleth) and Adam Gordon (Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi) will be exhibiting in Germany for the first time.
Younger galleries continue to strengthen their presence within the city’s art landscape with positions such as Lukas Quietzsch (Schiefe Zähne), Hanna Stiegeler (Sweetwater), Josefine Reisch & Miriam Umiń (Galerie Noah Klink), and Ketuta Alexi-Meskhishvili (Galerie Molitor).
The new sector Perspectives is designed to spotlight the diversity of Berlin’s gallery scene through a rotating, curated selection of galleries invited each year to present outstanding artistic positions. The inaugural edition features a light intervention by James Turrell at max goelitz; new paintings by Katherine Bradford at Haverkampf Leistenschneider; a site-specific installation by Jiyoon Chung at Anton Janizewski; architecture-related sculptural works by Shinoh Nam at Mountains; an exhibition at Persons Projects examining the influence of Karl Benjamin’s Hard-Edge painting on the early conceptual photography of Grey Crawford; a focused selection of works by Giorgio Griffa at Walter Storms Galerie; and a cross-media presentation by Mark Barker at Shahin Zarinbal.
From Friday to Sunday, May 1–3, 2026, Gallery Weekend Berlin will once again present its talks series at the Neue Nationalgalerie and at Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart. Open to the public, the Gallery Weekend Art Talks will bring together participating artists, local art-world figures, and international curators and collectors.
Another returning format will take place at KaDeWe, where the department store’s ten display windows will be transformed into a 24/7 public exhibition. This year, curator Sebastian Hoffmann will focus on the kinetic and performative potential of the vitrines.
