2026 MFA thesis exhibitions

The Hunter College MFA Program in Studio Art presents its annual MFA Thesis Exhibitions, featuring 35 artists working across a range of mediums. Representing the culmination of three years of intensive studio practice, the exhibitions highlight the breadth of research, experimentation, and critical inquiry that define the program. 

Presented at the 205 Hudson Gallery on the street level of Hunter College's MFA campus in Tribeca, the thesis exhibitions are a major milestone for graduating students and reflect the program’s commitment to rigorous studio practice within a dynamic urban and intellectual context. 

Opening receptions will be held on February 13, March 5, March 26, April 17, and May 7, all from 6–9pm. The thesis exhibitions will be open to the public, from 11am–7pm daily.  

MFA thesis exhibition & reception dates
Part I: Brackish Water
February 12–25, 2026. Opening reception: Friday, February 13, 6–9pm
Artists: Selena Cisneros, Clare Hu, Masie Love, Coco Ma, Dylan Musler, Vanessa Wallace-Gonzales, Farangiz Yusupova.

Part II: body bureau bunker 
March 5–18, 2026. Opening reception: Thursday, March 5, 6–9pm.
Artists: Micah Angelus, Drew Dominguez, Khia Hong, Marisa Kriangwiwat, Kian McKeown, Ben K. Voss, Zhiliang Zhao.

Part III: To The Bite 
March 26–April 10, 2026. Opening reception: Thursday, March 26, 6–9pm.
Artists: Lauren Cline, Reuben Gordon, Juan Hinojosa, Maya Lee-Parritz, Quin Mittelstead, Daniel Tepper, Anna Witenberg.

Part IV: Sundarpreis
April 17–30, 2026. Opening reception: Friday, April 17, 6–9pm.
Artists: Janina Butz, Cailyn Dawson, Theo Gaffney, Olivia Lutz, Katie Raudenbush, Satabdi Suman Tripathy, Claire Weaver-Zeman.

Part V: Midnight Town
May 7–20, 2026. Opening reception: Thursday, May 7, 6–9pm. Artists: Shibo Chan, Janos Cseh, Maya Edelman, Nick Peelor, Anam Rani, Kevin Thomas-Welch, Rosalie Yu.
