Lotus L. Kang at Bvlgari Pavilion / Lara Favaretto and Monia Ben Hamouda at Biblioteca Marciana

Bvlgari inaugurates its role of Exclusive Partner of the International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale until 2030, reaffirming its relationship with art and its commitment to creativity as an expression of freedom, combining dialogue between cultures, innovation and beauty.

Two events are planned for its debut in the 2026 edition:
Bvlgari will present the work of Canadian artist Lotus L. Kang in its Pavilion at Spazio Esedra at the Giardini della Biennale. As part of the Biennale’s Collateral Events, the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in Piazza San Marco will host the first exhibition promoted by Fondazione Bvlgari, with artists Lara Favaretto and Monia Ben Hamouda, the winner of the fourth edition of the MAXXI Bvlgari Prize.

Known for complexly layered environments that meld organic, structural and metabolic languages, Lotus L. Kang’s works give poetic form to reflections on themes spanning inheritance, impermanence, memory and translation. Working fluidly between sculpture, photography and site-responsive installation, Kang’s practice often draws on unfixed, unstable materials and forms, such as the use of photographic films that remain continuously sensitive to their environment and sedimentary sculptures that refuse rootedness and resolution, ever in a state of in-between. For the Biennale Arte 2026, Kang will develop a new installation produced especially for Bvlgari Pavilion in Spazio Esedra at the Giardini della Biennale, one that continues her enduring engagement with time as multiplicities, non-linear and contingent, and gives expansive shape to questions of “becoming”.

For the first exhibition promoted by Fondazione Bvlgari, the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana hosts two site-specific installations that engage in dialogue with the Library’s heritage: Lara Favaretto, in the Salone Sansovino, with the final chapter of her work Momentary Monument – The Library, and Monia Ben Hamouda, in the Vestibule spaces, with Fragments of Fire Worship.

With this significant presence in Venice, Fondazione Bvlgari renews its commitment to supporting contemporary talent by involving two artists who have received major awards dedicated to nurturing artists active in Italy: Lara Favaretto was the recipient of the Prize for Young Italian Art 2004–2005, with a work for MAXXI that was presented at the 51st International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, followed by participation in the 53rd and 58th editions; Monia Ben Hamouda has won the biennial prize established in 2017 by the Maison in collaboration with MAXXI, the National Museum of 21 st Century Arts, now carried forward by Fondazione Bvlgari.

Bvlgari’s presence at the Biennale Arte 2026 is a new and significant chapter in the Maison’s creative expression. Its vision harmonizes craftsmanship and technical mastery with artistic flair and sensitivity, reinforcing the brand’s role both as a creator of beauty and as a promoter of the universal, vibrant and always contemporary language of art.

Over the years, Bvlgari’s commitment, rooted in the conviction that to support creative practice is to support acts of freedom, has extended in multiple directions, embracing both the ancient and the contemporary. The preservation and enhancement of historical and artistic heritage are a constant source of inspiration for the Maison, generating new languages that combine knowledge of the past with the innovative spirit of the present. It is ongoing inspiration for future creations. This vision has translated into concrete action through a wide range of initiatives supporting the treasures of the past. From its participation in the restoration of the Scala d’Oro at the Palazzo Ducale in Venice in 2006, to projects in Rome, underscoring the brand's deep bond with the city. Initiatives include the conservative restoration of the Spanish Steps at Trinità dei Monti, the polychrome floor mosaics of the Baths of Caracalla, the marbles of the Torlonia Collection, and the paintings by Paolo Veronese from the church of San Pietro Martire in Murano. An equally important dialogue with contemporary creation has also led to a collaboration with MAXXI—the National Museum of 21st Century Arts—for the MAXXI Bvlgari Prize, at its 10th edition in 2027, to a partnership with the Whitney Biennial, to the creation of Fondazione Bvlgari in 2024, and ultimately to becoming Exclusive Partner of the International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.
